Final Score
Lakers 88
Celtics 98
Great scene last night, huh?
Not too much time to post all my thoughts right now. Things looked bleak when Paul Pierce was carried off the court and placed on a wheelchair to get his knee checked out. But the C's persevered...KG was huge in the first half (if not invisible in the second)...the captain shook off the "pop" he heard in his knee to post 16-second half points...and the Green defense kept Kobe Bryant in check throughout.
All in all, a great "welcome back" to the NBA Finals. Feel free to post your thoughts on Game 1 and anything else Finals related.

What a way to start out the 2008 NBA Finals. Yeah it was a great result if you are a Celtics fan like myself, but regardless of who you may root for it was a great game! Lakers on the road were ahead by five at halftime in game one, but alas the Celts captain (The Captain), lived up to his title with that performance. At this point it may not be original to say this, but it was as close to a Willis Reed moment as we are going to see. When Pierce was carried off the court by his teamates (that's right carried off the court) and then seen in a wheelchair EVERY Celtics fan Held his breath with Great anticapation on would what happen next. I mean would he be alright would the men in green still have a fighting chance without their fearless leader to lead them on? The answer as we watched was it didn't matter since the HUNGRY Paul Pierce came back in to the game less than two minutes later only two hit back to back three pointers and put the Celts ahead for good. A game and a performance that will never be forgotten. All I know is I am glad i recorded it. Celtic fans everywhere get ready to put banner #17 up to the rafters. GO Celtics and BEAT L.A.
