So here we are again. A Game 7 on a Sunday afternoon against a team the Celtics should have put away a long time ago if they could just get their heads out of their…..
I’ll stop there, and issue a brief disclaimer for those wondering why I’m so down on the Celts when I thought all along Cleveland had what it took to beat Boston in the Eastern Conference. I fully envisioned a knock down-drag out fight in any potential series, but that was going by the assumption that LeBron James would actually play like….well, you know…play like LeBron James. The C’s have done a fantastic job controlling the King (despite what the point totals suggest), and yet they’re still being done in by the rest of the Cavaliers’ stiffs.
Where does the blame lie? Well, I guess we’ll wait till the corpse has been buried before performing the autopsy. There’s plenty of blame to go around; Doc’s cluelessness when it comes to coaching X’s & O’s…Pierce’s cement head…Ray Allen’s petrification…Rondo’s maddening inconsistency…Perkins’ 7-foot disappearing acts…Officiating straight out of the Twilight Zone...and YES, Garnett’s character flaw that won't allow him to grab Doc, Pierce, Allen and anybody else in a Green uniform by the throat and DEMAND that “this is MY team, so get the hell out of the way and let me get the job done since the rest of you don’t know how to do it. (exhibit A: Kobe Bryant)
What I think we CAN agree on is that this team is NOT going to win an NBA title until it wins on the road. They were lucky the Hawks basically pooped their pants at the mere sight of the Garden, or they’d have been first round fodder. LeBron could very easily have stolen a couple of games on the parquet had even ONE of his teammates not had bowel movements like the Hawks did. Rest assured, the Pistons and/or Lakers WON’T be intimidated coming here. In fact, they’ll relish the opportunity, knowing full well once they do steal one on the road, the series is basically over.
What a shame that this is what it’s come to for the team with not only the best regular season record in the NBA, but the best ROAD record.
Those are my thoughts, what are yours?

I've never seen a more Jeckyl-and-Hyde situation than the difference between the Celts at the Garden and on the road... Hopefully they can get their act together and play like they are capable and beat this "team".
Problem is that I'll almost guarantee that not only CAN Detroit win in Boston I'd be willing to bet they'd steal one of the first two in Boston should the Celts get by the Cavs- unless the Celts start playing as a team instead of as a bunch of individuals with the same jersey on.
