Paul Pierce's nine points have helped the Boston Celtics out to a two-point lead at the end of the first quarter. Ray Allen has five points, and Kevin Garnett has six to round out the Boston scoring.

Detroit's Rip Hamilton is getting off to a solid start in Game 2. He was 2-for-3 from the field for six points. Antonio McDyess and Chauncey Billups aslo have six points each.
