Kevin Garnett was up to 22 points by the time he went ot the bench for a rest with just under five minutes left in the quarter. Paul Pierce equaled his first half scoring output (nine points) in the third qarter alone.
Antonio MyDyess remains Detroit's top scoring threat (14 points), but Rip Hamilton has pushed his total to 13 points headed into the final quarter.
