Late Penalty Gives Habs Win

I'm all for calling penalties IF THEY ARE CALLED ON BOTH ENDS OF THE ICE....

In case you missed it the Bs lost to Montreal 3 -2 with 1.2 seconds left, and yes the penalty call on recently called-up Matt Lashoff was a good call, but what about the Kessel mugging on the other end of the ice???

Either way, the call was not made and it was on Lashoff, but please oh please, DO NOT LITTER THE ICE - that is not what a true Bruins fan would do - that's just purely juvenile.

The only good news coming out of the game was Phil Kessel scored his second goal in as many games and Zdeno Chara got his first as a Bruin.

The Senators come to town Saturday night, should be intersting for Chara, but who gets the start in net, Thomas or Toivonen? I say Thomas. Agree or disagree?

Legend Killer:

When seeing the amount of hot dog wrappers and empty beer cups being thrown on the ice, Bruins Owner Jermey Jacobs could be heard saying (in his best Mr. Burns voice)
EHHXCELENT !!!!!

If I'm Zdeno...I Stow away in the Ottowa Bus.

Lady Bruins Fan:

LK - as much as I hate to admit it, you're probably right about Jacobs...

Ricky - why would Chara want to stow away on the Ottawa Bus???

Lady Bruins Fan:

you know what LK - I rephrase what I said earlier...

I KNOW YOU ARE RIGHT ABOUT JACOBS

RickyBobby:

If you had a chance to get off the Titanic, would you?

Lady Bruins Fan:

Just 8 games into the season and you're comparing the Bruins to the Titanic?

That's a bit much, all they have to do is get a true number #1 goalie and I think the club would be OK and I have said that from day one that they don't have the right goaltending.

MaLockFan:

Ahhhhrrggh! The last second loss. Hurts like your first love holding hands with the bad boy creep down the road. I could be heard in my living room with 5 seconds to go.."everyone in front of the net..nothing getting by..we need the point"! Alas..stomped again!
Reminds me of last year. When every tie resulted in a shoot out loss and then suddenly we couldn't even get to O.T, nevermind the shoot out.

Gayle, seriously you need to build a bish bridge and just get over it. Read Fluto if you want a true call.

Howabout you write a column at the same time Bish writes his and submit it to the B's for thier consideration..c'mon drop the gloves!

Lady Bruins Fan:

MLF - Believe me I do read Fluto, but it pains me that I can't stomach the Bruins web-site anymore. I mean com'on when you love a team as much as I love the Bruins you should be able to go to the team's site and get the information you're looking for with out all the other stuff (and I use that word loosely) he adds in there.

MaLockFan:

yeah, I feel you're pain. If you ask me there hasn't been anything interesting on the Bruins website since Stocker's Blog..now there was some entertainment! FYI - I still have my P.J. Stock'er t-shirt and listen to him on leafs lunch over the net..good times..good times.

Teddy Panos:

Even a number one goalie wouldn't be enough to save this team right now. There simply isn't enough talent on the frontline and the defense is horrid. While there's a glimmer of hope that some of the youngsters at forward will develop into good and very good players with experience, I don't see anything on the blue line to hang your hat trick on, other than Chara. I thought Chara might be enough to raise everyone else's level of play, but that hasn't been the case.

Then again, I don't recall Chara hoisting Lord Stanley's Cup with some very talented Ottawa teams, so perhaps we expected too much from him.

Lady Bruins Fan:

Fair enough Teddy, but allow me to give my rebuttal...

Right now the Bs have some injuries on the blue line ... Brad Stuart, broken finger and Andrew Alberts, shoulder. That's two key players on "D" that are not playing and Jurcina did not start the season with an elbow injury, in fact he has only played in 3 games thus far - so the defense has not had time to gel or been complete from the very first game...

Secondly, up front Marco Sturm has been out with an injury and IMO, Dave Lewis mixed up the lines way too early in the season. The lines were actually scoring more before Lewis messed with them.

Tim Thomas has given up 14 goals and there's been 17 scored on Hannu Toivonen in the first 8 games of the season. While the Bs skaters have posted 17 goals so that's 21 GA and 17 GF - that's why I feel the goaltending is the true problem in Boston.

So, with that said, again this is my opinion, that if the team was healthy and they had a true #1 in net there would be a definite turn around in the "Hub of Hockey"
