Firefighters were at the scene about 5:45 p.m., and stretched a hose up to the unit as a precaution after what was described in radio broadcasts as a stove fire that extended to the cabinets.
It sounds like sprinklers had activated, which I know from past experience causes quite a mess in a building like that.

There was reportedly a smoke condition on the floor where the fire occurred, but firefighters were setting up ventilation fans to take care of that.

No immediate reports of injuries.
