Crash Involving Elderly Driver

This is very unfortunate, but interestingly it comes just as we've been debating the need to give vision and road tests to elderly drivers here in Massachusetts.

Making it even more interesting, is the fact that New Hampshire already requires road tests for driver's over 75. The debate here in Massachusetts has been looking at 85 as the age where road tests are required.

Thoughts?

I don't think that 85yrs for a retest is going to cut it. New Hampshire has the right idea. I think they should have to be retested at 75yrs and every year after. This is for the safety of the driver and the public.

Yesterday while driving with my 2 children an elderly man obviously confused was driving on the wrond side of the highway. I called 911 but the phone kept ringing. Havent heard anything about this and it was yesterday 10/18/09. I had to suerve to get outta his way. Anyone know what happened to this old guy? I was worried about him and what might happen while he was entering the wrong way on Rt.3N. He almost killed me and my 2 boys. Thank God I was paying attention.. am I the only one who called 911?? No one answered the 911 calll.. whats up with that?
