Food Network pulls out of town

Hey Guys, guess Guy Fieri is not coming to Lowell after all. Boo! The rowdy host of Food Network's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives canceled its Owl Diner visit this week. Hope it has nothing to do with some of the swipes my audience took at the Appleton Street egg institution. Oh well, moving on. We got Costa right? Seems the meal tax will be kicking in right in time w/ the Restaurant Showcase Week, Saturday Aug. 1. Hey it's a mere 1.25 percent, you can hack it. All the more reason to support this cut-rate culinary chowdown, I say. A good chance to try entrees you've never had before. Why am I so strong on this event? We, the foodies of 978 deserve a break today. GG will be Tweeting live all week, @gourmetgal. What restaurant are you looking forward to hitting? Also looks like Elliots is re-opening. The All-American city reclaims its sandwich.

Sooooo sad about Guy not coming to Lowell. I was planning on stalking him to see if I could get my big break on the Food Network. Oh well, I guess I'll have to keep applying to Next Food Network Star.
I'm super excited about Restaurant Showcase week!

That stinks about them skipping out, I love his show.

On a slightly different note, do you have any insider info on the replacement for the Village Grille in Chelmsford? I heard it is going to a bar/pizza place. They apparently are looking for a liquor license from the town this month sometime, but that is all I have.

I've heard the Village Grille will be re-opening as a third location of Brickhouse Pizza...
