Shhhhhhh! The Phantom Gourmet swoops into Vic's Pastry Shop Sat. morning in Lowell to do a piece on this Centralville institution. Hey if it was good enough for Ed McMahon and Jack Kerouac, it's good enough for the Andelman brothers. There will no doubt be a run on chicken and pork pies after this airs, so grab 'em while you can.

Since when is the Phantom doing Lowell's worst places to eat. While the food might sometimes be OK (not good, just OK) the service is nasty with a capital "N" and the place is a pigsty.
Phantom doing a piece on a crappy restaurant? Shocker! Frankly, I thought it was Phantom's job to report on the greasiest crappiest food joints in Mass...I for one am not surprised.
My dad wanted a pie from there a couple of years ago and it was so dirty, I walked out. When is it OK to leave a pile of mashed potatoes open on a counter?
Is this the Vic's that serves breakfast? Also has like a sub shop or something next to it? I'm not sure which Vic's you are referring to? If it is the breakfast shop you speak of I must have always been too hungover to notice the dirty factor. The very dated factor, yes..but dirty? I hope not.
Vic's does not have an ice machine. You can not get ice there. This is 2009, people! Geez

Just made the trip to Centerville for a sub from Vic's. It's been a while since I've been there. It may not be the most modern place, but they have the BEST subs!! I met the owners too - soooo nice. I will be back there again soon. The chocolate chip cookies are to die for!!
