Drink it in

You can find the tastiest of cocktails in the unlikeliest of places, last week I found mine in downtown Ayer. Where? If there is a less fresh place to hang in the 978, I can't think of one. But while no one was looking, Karen Angle at 31 Main turned this one-horse town around with one drink, the lemonade sipper. A tart combo of fresh-squeezed lemonade and gin is the perfect giddy-up when traversing the Nashua Rail Trail. Now the bistro broad adds fresh fruit martinis like white peach and blood orange to the menu. The food (mid-range $$) is so succulent, try the black label burger, or summer salad, that you have to adjust your eyes when you look outside and remember you're not in the South End. Is 31 Main bringing Ayer back?
And speaking of great summer drinks, has anyone sourced farmers market for herbs and berries to muddle into a concoction? Strawberry basil lemonade and blueberry lavender mojitos are trending at the bar. Now, where can I get my hands on a muddler?
