What a dealio

taco.jpeg I'd be remiss in my gourmet guru duties if I didn't pass along this late-breaking Cinco de Mayo news. Dollar tacos and $3 margaritas are up for grabs tonight at the Mambo Grill. Cut work early saying you came down w/ the Mexican flu. Hey, it's going around. Live music from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. makes the imbibe vibe at the Merrimack Street cantina. It doesn't feel like May, but what the hay. Tell em GG sent ya!

yea GG..tried the whole calling in with the Flu idea. Between the Board of Health, The CDC, and Fox News..! Didn't go so well :)
How was the crowd? I say we next have a Happy Hour at the Mambo Grill and taste all those new tequilas. And THEN blog. That might produce more action then even Pizza...

Good idea. Could do a progressive tequila night. Try all the margs. on Merrimack. We'd need to call in ill the next day fur sure. Unless it's a Saturday. Mix in enough guac. and h20 and it could be down right civilized.

btw: things were off-the-hook (wireless?) in the city last night. Cinco de Mayo was on. Strangely the Old Court was packed. Must have been the Sox. Casualties were spilling into the streets well after mid-night. Is May 5th the new Dec. 31?

Its Richardsons Ice Cream served at Orchard Hill at Burbecks - nothing at all special........I prefer homemade

Hey Scott, what is a good cocktail to accompany raw oysters? Me and the wife love the oysters at moonstones. They always get us in the mood. But i always drink whiskey when i have them and that often makes me sick. Any suggestions?

I don't know Gobbler...you've had trouble with oysters in the past. As much as I appreciate you enjoying ours, maybe you have an allergy or something.

But what a shame for you and the missus to get all into "the mood" and next thing you're "blaming the dog". That stinks!

On the other hand, I'd say whiskey isn't as well suited for oysters, as it is say, for bbq. The "fabulous" pairing suggestion would be bubbly. The contrast of salty and sweet plays, and there's the double whammy potential in the aphro department.

Others prefer a nice dry martini. Oysters, Olives, Onions. Again, it's all about the O's!

IMO, Beer always works, like a nice cold Sierra Nevada Pale Ale... and sipping on the awesome ginger vinegar that comes with the oysters is always a gas, if you're into that sort of thing. (plus...vinegar aids in digestion!!)
