It ain't edible, but has local appeal nonetheless. Evos Arts, the culture shack on Middle Street that closed in 2005, has re-opened in the woods of Rhode Island — Coventry to be exact. Seems music, film and art on 61 acres of green space is in the works. Hard to tell if it's open yet, but I intend to find out. Anyone know if former Evos director Evron is behind this? From evosarts.com: "Our plan is to create a sculpture park and build a green, eco-friendly building where we will once again host workshops, gallery shows, exhibits, film screenings, poetry readings, concerts and anything else the community can think of." I can think of a road trip as soon as the sun shows.

GG, it looks like their web site has been redesigned recently, but to be honest this is the same mission statement I saw on the Evos web site (that never really went away, btw) when I moved to Lowell almost three years ago and went to so I could find out more about this mythical Evos Arts space that seemed to hold such a special place in everyone's hearts. Unless there has been recent progress made, I wouldn't hold your breath.
