Chive talkin'

currier%20and%20chives.jpg Deluxe Maynard caterer Currier & Chives is contemplating a move to Lowell. We hear the party people are eyeing space at the American Textile History Museum on Dutton Street once home to the Gazebo Cafe — dead over a year now. If you've ever been to a party where these guys did the honors you would remember them. Astounding morsels (stage left) spreads, humus, fresh veggies, fruit and tiny gelato ice cream cones. Too cute! So why should you, dedicated downtown foodie, care? They will have a cafe serving primo meals. If this rings true it will be one of the better (dare I say best) lunch options in the city. So keep a good thought. Besides Dunkin,’ not much has sprung up in the outer Acre since Fureys. The Western Ave artists would be all over it as would those long-lost ladies who lunch. You still out there?

We checked out the Courthouse deli on Middlesex Street last night. This place is fantastic! These guys really care about the customer and the sandwich and are very eager to be see that you're happy.

The sandwiches we got were fantastic, especially my wife's (#22) grilled chicken and Basil Pesto on focaccia bread. They had another focaccia special that day that I'll have my eye on next time! Both the focaccia and the marble pumpernickel/rye breads were outstanding.

The size of the sandwich was great and with the garage right there, there's no need to worry about parking.

Welcome to the neighborhood, hope to see you again soon Courthouse Deli!
