Altura is Spanish for high and this stuff will get you there. I picked up a can of Cafe Altura’s regular roast at the Common Crow , a nifty whole foods grocer in Gloucester that was like Life Alive x 3, over the weekend and my mornings have perked up. Gourmet Guy clued me into this single-origin brew from Mexico, for some reason it had never crossed my radar. The difference is astounding. It's nutty w/o being acidic and the caffeine (most important) enters the bloodstream as shuttle as a cup of green tea. I only wish I had lugged it into work today! Anyone know where I can score a cup of this locally? Another great place to check out in Cape Ann's gritty city is Halibut Point Restaurant on Main Street. Good fish chowders in a cozy atmosphere, open kitchen right up front and chips and salsa instead of bread. I tucked into a twist on NE's clam chowder w/ a zesty tomato Italian version.
Closer to home seems Village Grille in Chelmsford has closed its doors. I called yesterday and the cleaning man who answered said the owner had closed the doors, turned off the lights and walked. Anyone know anything?

Went to Village Grill about a month ago and we were the only customers at 7:30 on a Thursday. People were very nice but the food was just fair. Too bad, we probably wouldn't have gone back but hate to see yet another business bite the dust.
