Groton lad may get the Beard

Will%20Gilson.jpeg Will Gilson, who cut his paring knife at the Herb Lyceum in Groton that bears his name, has been a Hub darling since his Garden at the Cellar opened in Cambridge. Last week the kitchen star made the short list for a James Beard Award. He is one of 10 competing for rising new chef title. We won't know if Gilson is a winner till names are announced in late-March, but it's cool the herb king made the list. If you haven't been to his gastro-pub between Harv. and Cent. Squares, check it out now before the crowds descend. Good job Willie, I can call you Willie, can't I?

I've been a huge Will fan ever since my first visit to Gilson's Herb Lyceum in Groton about 5 years ago. I enjoyed many meals he prepared there, and have visited the Garden at the Cellar several times. He is creative and talented and so deserving of this award. He has my vote!
