Farmer's rock

I just hit the Lowell Farmer's Market, JFK Plaza, 2-7 p.m. today for the first time. I snagged great tomatoes from an Andover farm and peaches! Glorious peaches. The basil and herbs smelled fantabulous. Also noticed Spring Brook Farm setting up. I've been negligent in blogging about this hot Littleton farm (can a farm be hot?), I discovered for the first time on Wed. Blowing by this stand on Route 119 so many times now, I can't believe I never stopped. It's a locavore's paradise, with cheese, fruit, corn, bread and baked goods aplenty. You can also wander into the greenhouse where plants and antiques happily nestle. Like meat? They've got that. Steaks and ground beef from cows on the premises. I'd like to say more, but you gotta check it out for yourself. It's like a mini whole foods minus the whole paycheck part. I was shocked to see a huge chunk of ciabatta (sic) bread for $3.50. Take that flying pig.

Have you ever been to Idlewylde Farm in Littleton? It's AMAZING! Sounds a little bit like the place you are describing. Their Pane Rustica bread is the best bread I have ever eaten and its only 3.50 as well. They also make their own hummus in an assortment of flavors and have a great cheese selection. They also have their own coffee beans!

Any word on the Brazilian restaurant that may be coming to downtown? Would love to see one like Gaucho's in Manchester.
