C'est Thank God

C%27est.jpg
C'est, the fun wine/cheese/party shop on Merrimack opens today. Anyone been yet? This could turn things around for the urban foodie. To recap: pate, cheese, crackers, truffle oil, chocolate (I hope) flowers, and stylish things for the home. You gotta check out this great oval space. This stunning pic says it all. Let's support C'est so it doesn't go belly up in these trying times.
On a related note: Tutto Bene, C'est competition over on Prescott St., will not be opening till Sept. Boo! Seems Ricardo's wine and cheese shop suffered some h20 damage last week. Well at least we have C'est. And across the street on Merrimack, Ole! opens Aug. 14.
Still this doesn't address the prob. of where to eat tonight? Im thinking pizza. Flatbread in Burlington perhaps. Wish there was a good pie shop closer. Anyone???
Since it's still iced coffee weather thought I'd spill this: Top Donut in Lowell is opening a second location on Bridge Street at KFC/Taco Bell spot. The dough disk haven pours a good brew, I hear. Anyone know if the Billerica, Chelms., or Westford Starbucks is on the chopping block?

For really good pizza, I suggest stonehearth pizza in belmont! They have thin crust pizza with all local farm fresh ingredients and toppings! It is definately worth a try

PS. there website says there is one in Sudbury but that location is closed!

There's a list on the starbucks website about which stores are closing.

The only local one on the closing list is the one in Burlington on Mall Road, next to Dandelion Green and the furniture place.

Thanks for the update...tapas, wine, and cheese, in LOWELL. Have I died and gone to heaven?

As for the pizza...depends on what you're looking for. New York style pizza? Fancy pizza? I'm a Brooklyn girl who loves to fold my pizza and I can honestly say that I love Suppa's pizza. It's the closest thing we have to New York style pizza around these parts, so long as you as for it well-done. Angelina's is pretty good too. As for what I call "fancy" pizza, even though it is a chain, Lui Lui's in Nashua has yummy brick oven pizza. I love their dough! Cobblestones has some great Flatbread pizza too.

I agree with Ruby about Angelinas and Lui Lui. Surprisingly, Lui Lui has a nice litte bar in the basement. Downtown pizza at the Gaslight in Portsmouth has really good "fancy" pizza. Does anyone know if Angelinas is for sale? I thought only Hookslides was for sale but I saw an anonymous ad on Craigslist describing what sounds like Angelinas.

We'd love to support C'est and all these other fancy places. But right now, James Madison University is getting the bulk of our support. So we need to be frugal with our food dollars, which means more Jalapenos/Sangrias/Mambos and less Cobblestones/Fortunatos/Boniche. Which is a bummer, because we love them all. So many restaurants, so little $$$.

But in the something-to-look-forward-to dept., one day our kid will graduate. So that'll free up an extra $70 per day, which is almost enough for dinner for 2 at the best restaurants. Woo hoo!
