Giovannis, the pizza joint on Gorham Street may be moving to the Textile bldg. It's not the G’vannis from the North End that's moving into Billerica. That deal seems to be rock solid. Turns out the owner of the now-shuttered Giovannis (Pizza Hazel) is looking to open a French/Italian rest. where the Gazebo Cafe once was. A strange fusion, but we will reserve comment until we know more. But that's no fun. I say stick w/ one cuisine (unless they are really close) and do it better than anyone. Could be a split menu, not a marrying of flavors from these diverse regions. Anyone dine at Giovannis across from the cemetery? They had brickoven pizza and other down home fare, but the informal poll ive just taken from co-workers yielded mixed results. Owner is looking for a new chef and that could change everything. A deal is expected to be inked by next week. Would be nice to infuse some new life in here, espec. for those who bought condos in the bldg. charmed by the in-house cafe. Are you guys out there?
