Game day grub

garnett.jpg
If I can divert your attention from Moonstones for a minute. There's a nifty little pub that opened in early-May in Billerica, the Newtowne Grill. Across from Emerald Rose on 3A, I hear it's a great place to watch the Celts. 11 plazma screens, burgers, salads and reasonably priced seafood sounds perfect for a Thursday night. No Kobe burgers, but we don't need em. KG and co. will be making meat out of Bryant tonight! Where are you watching the game? Any tips on good grub/game places? I tend to avoid chains, but Smokey Bones in Tyngs. has screens in every booth. But the food? Would this man eat it?

Their food leaves a lot to be desired but it is totally edible. They get me in there because they have a satelite dish and ESPN Gameplan so I can see my Alma Mater play on the grid iron. You can tune a speaker in your booth to the sound of whichever TV you want to watch, which is a plus. Go Canes!!!! I always call ahead to make sure they'll have my out-of-market game on at least 1 tv I can see and I hold them to it, otherwise I really would not eat there. Women and children seem to love there bag 'o donuts for desert. Go Canes!!!!!

I don't think Smokey Bones has booth tv's. They do have audio boxes so you can hear the broadcast. The food is ok. Buckets of beer are always good.
