Many have asked me, your intrepid blogger, to find out when Lowell Beer Works is opening. I don't have a hard date, but I know they've already hired and trained the staff. The owner has been in Lowell non-stop and the Spinners season opener is Tues. If I was a beernut, I'd stop by Tues. to see if the taps are running. Conventional wisdom tells me Joe Slesar (the brains behind this barley heaven) wants to open when our Sox affiliates return to the field. The Spinners season is a short one, ends in late August. So if it's not next week, it will surely be this mo. And the Village Smoke House has signed up for Restaurant Week (July 27- Aug. 9), so that can only mean it will be open by late July. We're lucky the Lowell Folk Fest falls the last wk. in July. A true biz.motivator. With these two heavy weights open, our options will increase considerably. Can anyone move this forward?

I don't mean to be a Doubting Thomas but....I went by Beer Works today and it looks like they have a couple more weeks left of work. But if they just roll out a keg to the patio I'd buy a pint.
My money is on the Village Smokehouse not being open by Folk Fest. I hope I'm wrong.
Anyone know what Irish Pub North of Boston is planning on opening in the Early garage?

From what I have heard, they are shooting for Friday the 20th of June. There is still staff training in both Boston locations and Salem.

So the boys are headed North of the border for some glutony and debauchery. Does anyone have any tips on a steakhouse in Montreal? I've got the smoked meat and poutin covered. Thanks!

I walk my dog by the Brewery almost every single day and I just don't see how Beerworks could open this Friday. It's still Bare inside! Also, it looked as though they were tearing up the patio...are they definitely keeping the outdoor seating? It would be a shame if there's no more al fresco!

No Word on outside sitting, but they will open either Tomorrow or Saturday. The employees are there today to have brew class, and then help put together some Tables.

At Beer Works, they were hard at work as late as 8pm last night. Meanwhile back on middle street... Village Smokehouse looks months away. Very little signs of progress there. Comon smokehouse people, get it done already.

Tally another "C'mon Smokehouse". A trip to the BBQ Beach Party in Boston over the weekend has me pining for a regular dose of ribs!
