A chill scene

margaritta.jpg The Blue Taleh is cracking out the blender and pouring a raft of new frozen cocktails this summer. Timed w/ the opening of its new canalside cafe, BT mixocologist are serving up pina coladas, strawberry shortcakes, mudslides and berry coladas, to name a few. Forget martinis. When the sun's out and we're out, we want a blended, fruity bev. So pull up a palm tree this wkend at the Kearney Sq. sushiporium.
In other outdoor cafe news: Centro on Market is opening its sidewalk cafe next wk. While not as picturesque as the BT (only waterside cafe in town, unless you count the DoubleTree, which we don't) Centro’s cafe will feel like dining at one of the many Parisian cafes (we hope). Get the rush of the urban streets as you dig seductively into a lemony plate of paella. I ordered up a huge vat of this scalloped, shrimp, sausage-studded sig. dish for a get together recently and everyone raved. And the leftovers kicked butt. Noticed that new sub/pizza joint Sammy’s on Merrimack upped the ante w/ an outdoor cafe next to Mambo. Looks good. What's your favorite spot to dine alfresco? See ya on the sidewalk.

If only that store front with all the junk in it on Market St. would get cleaned out. Any news on when the wine shops are opening?

Expect Tutto Bene (Prescott St. rear) to open by the end of June and C'est on Merrimack aournd the same time. I too can't wait. Bring on the vino fromagerie.

Thanks for the info. Can't wait for them to open.

Actually, they've made some progress on the junk. Most of the crap is cleaned out of the front windows.

We ate inside at BT on Friday night (it was a little too chilly for outside), and saw the tables set up outside. So we're looking forward to some canalside dining as the weather gets warmer.

Any idea whether or not thay take reservations for outdoor seating?
