It's Friday, it's spring, time to treat ourselves to a nosh out on the town. Im thinking of hitting Serene in Andover tonight, above Starbucks downtown. One of the reasons is because I haven't tried the new Pike Place blend yet and it's killing me. Literally killing me!
A fellow coffee-buff reporter has berated me for not sampling the smooth vintage the Bucks rolled out on Tuesday. As the days wear on I feel more inadequate by the minute. But it's hard to make the trek when you're stuck here in Lowell w/ the Merrimack blues again. We hear Serene (open about a month), has an impressive bread, olive, dipping oil trio, which sometimes is all you need. Order the lasagna at yer own risk. I'd sit at the bar, order a nice glass of Malbec and let the live jazz they have here on Fri.- Sat., wash over me. Then pop around the corner to the Cupcake Boutique for a frosted finish. Where are you dropping anchor this wkend?

I'm going to Dylan's Bar & Grill in Andover...never been, but I've been persuaded to go by my family who thinks it's a great place for casual family eats. Have you been? Any recommendations?
Oh and I just tried the Pike place roast yesterday and it did not dissappoint, a smooth and delicious cup o' joe. I usually make my own spanish espresso at home, but I broke down because I had heard that this was a great cup of coffee. I must admit...it was almost, I said almost, as good as my brew.
I'm sure you'll get some starbucks haters to say something about this post. Don't listen to them, go ahead and try it!
I may lobby for Owen & Ollies.
I'll be at Olympia.
More importantly, where can a guy get a Richie's slush, or similar, in town? (I'd love to see a Fat Tuesdays downtown someday!)
Went to Filho's Cucina on Main St in Groton yesterday for lunch. It was my first time there and since my previously all time fave restaurant (cafe il cipresso) is (in my opinion) not nearly as good since new owners took over I thought I would try this italian gem. It was awesome...fantastic food, inexpensive, and the portions are ridiculously huge.
