Moonstones rising

Scott Plath is being tight-lipped about his plans to open a new restaurant in Chelmsford. All the owner of Cobblestones in Lowell will say is A. It’s in the former Ground Round spot on Route 110; B. It’s fun and conceptual and C. It probably will be called Moonstones. Not too much to sink our teeth into. “The food will be quality and the options beyond the scope of dining people are used to,” Plath said. Ummmmm. With restaurants harder to start than old Buicks, you’d think early PR would help grease the skids.
It's supposed to open Feb. 2008. They are spending some $$$ on design, so it will probably be the hippest thing Chelms. has seen (not hard). And perhaps the biggest. I haven't been inside that Ground Round, but it looks like a large building. Location is good, right off 495 and there is parking!! A huge plus. I went to East Coast Grill (new fav.rest) in Cambridge the other night and my car was almost locked in. They have a lot ($5) but it closes at 11. After one (okay 2 margaritas) you loose track of time. We got it out luckily because the attendant was still w/in shouting distance. But scary to return to a pad-locked parking lot. I digress. Scott since you are a GG commentor give us some more morsels to go on? Make your Moonstones' announcements here. Restaurateurs this is your forum!

I think that this could be a place I would like to go. I love the name and if the food is as good as I hope it will be, I think it will be a big hit. I hope that the advertising will do it justice.
yours truly,

Bev,
You are right. This could be THE place. Right now we don't have one excellent must see-and-be-seen culinary hotspot, like Beantown's kazillions. Moonstones could be the new Bonfire, or Sonsie.

GG, Bev...
Ladies! Slow down puh-leeze! We are truly grateful for the attention and the excitement associated with Moonstones. But Bonfire? Sonsie? My stars; we haven't even chosen the carpet yet!

I would love the opportunity to just get it (mostly) right before being compared to downtown Boston institutions! (who boast millions of dollars in investor capital, and an urban oasis of experienced restaurant applicants to choose from...) (Investors...are you reading..?)

As far as your mention of "advertising" and "doing justice", we have done ZERO advertising thus far and the publicity we have received (understandably from press members as challenged as we are to produce results for a news hungry public!) has been created with what little information we have provided. (please read Gourmet Gal's first sentence..."tight lipped"...)

And just for clarification sake...in a recent news article, I was quoted as saying that Moonstones will be a restaurant that "you can't find anywhere else". Close, I suppose, but what I actually said was "unique to the area".

We seek to please the residents and businesses of the greater Chelmsford area in by, hopefully, filling a need. We aim not, for Epcot.

A great woman said recently ;
"Under promise, over deliver".

So, if y'all don't mind...let us work on "setting that bar" accordingly as we seek our niche
(and a great staff!)

Sleep is already challenging, and we are still months away from shucking our first Moonstone!

We promise to do our best to earn your praise.

If Scott Plath has anything to do with it, it will rock.
