Baby Oil Babe's death rocks Hollywood

Casey_Johnson.jpg It wouldn't be right to start the new decade off without a scandal -- Hollywood style. The recipe is all there -- bisexual billionairess found dead, sprinkle a few rumors of hard-partying drug use on top and spike it with Paris Hilton and...Voila! You've got yourself a gossip gourmet.

Since billionaire babe Casey Johnson was found dead Monday at her compound she dubbed "Grumblenot" celebutants have been gathering to comfort each other over the loss of their partying pal. Paris and her sister Nikki Hilton were spotted with Nicole Richie, all dressed in black obviously mourning the Johnson & Johnson heiress's demise.

Johnson, 30, was recently in the news before she was found dead for asking reality TV's bisexual babe Tila Tequila to marry her. The couple appeared in a video posted online announcing their engagement with TT sporting a super-sized diamond on her ring finger calling Johnson her "Wifey."

An autopsy Tuesday found no evidence of trauma on the body and a determination of the cause of death was deferred pending toxicological tests and microscopic studies that could take eight weeks or more. The Hollywood hiller was diagnosed with diabetes as a child, it was unclear if that had a role in her death, but many say she was not taking care of herself or her disease.

Johnson should have known, diabetes and tequila don't mix...

Johnson was facing criminal charges alleging she burglarized her friend's home, model Jasmine Lennard, stealing $22,000 in lingerie, mail and jewelry.

She was in the midst of a custody battle with her mother over a little girl Casey adopted from Kazakhstan in 2007 and named Ava-Monroe after her idol, Marilyn Monroe.
"I see a lot of similarities between us," Casey said about Monroe in the Vanity Fair interview.

"They thought she was some dumb blonde, and she wasn't. She was a smart, smart broad. And I think that sometimes people look at me and think, 'Oh, Casey Johnson, she's stupid, she's blonde, she's an heiress, blah, blah, blah."

Johnson was the daughter of New York Jets owner Robert Wood "Woody" Johnson IV. She had no role in the health care products company that her great-great-grandfather founded in 1886, even though she and her two younger sisters were heirs to the fortune.

The family's involvement with the corporation ended decades ago.

In a Twitter posting Tuesday, Hilton said she was devastated by the death of her friend.
"In bed crying, looking at baby pictures of Casey, Nicky and I. I feel so upset. I feel like I've lost a sister. My heart is broken. Miss her," she wrote.

Celebrating 2010 in Hollywood fashion

LiLo_Pootie.jpeg
We think Lindsay Lohan should just stick to what she does best -- as this blog is linked off of what many call a "family newspaper" we can't divulge in print what that is. We're sure our readers are smart enough to insert said talent themselves.

Anyhow, like all Hollyweirdos, LiLo is schizo and can't settle on just one paramour or career path. She can't even select a gender she prefers. It might be their sense of entitlement or just the tendency to be surrounded by people who fill their heads with grandeur, whatever the case the true Hollywood actress has become extinct.

The scarlet starlet is now trying her hand at becoming a fashion designer and things are not starting off as rosy as one would hope. However, this is Lindsay -- drama queen is an understatement.

Seems one of her pals, or Li-leech, has helped himself to her sketches for her new 6126 clothing line. Patrick Aufdenkamp AKA Pootie, will debut "his" designs at NYC Fashion Week on Feb. 18.

Sources close to LiLo say that the theft has crushed her, but in a statement she tried to remain optimistic confirming she told Pootie to find another faux-iend.

"I should've known better. But new year for me and a new beginning! Health, happiness, success and love!"

Now, if she can just get over Samantha Ronson, Lindsay might just be staging a comeback becoming the Britney Spears of 2010.

The Queen has spoken

queen-latifah-07.jpg
Queen Latifah has revealed a traumatic chapter of her personal life: The singer-actress was sexually abused as a child.

In the latest issue of Essence magazine, Latifah says the abuse occurred over a period of time, and at the hands of a teenager charged with watching her.

"He violated me," says Latifah. "I never told anybody; I just buried it as deeply as I could and kept people at an arm's distance."

The 39-year-old entertainer, whose new album "Persona" arrives in July, says the abuse affected her relationships.

She eventually told her parents, and has gone through therapy to come to terms with what happened.

No California love from the Donald

miss-california-carrie-prejean3.jpg
Miss California USA Carrie Prejean, got the message loud and clear today -- "you're fired!"

Pageant poobah Donald Trump on Wednesday said Prejean was being sacked not because of the remarks on gay marriage but because she hadn't been holding up her end of the agreement she signed when she entered the pageant.

"This was a decision based solely on contract violations, including Ms. Prejean's unwillingness to make appearances on behalf of the Miss California USA organization," the California pageant's executive director, Keith Lewis, said in a statement.

He had complained at a news conference last month that Prejean was skipping Miss California USA events while speaking out against gay marriage at unsanctioned appearances.

"I told Carrie she needed to get back to work and honor her contract with the Miss California USA Organization and I gave her the opportunity to do so," Trump said in a statement. "Unfortunately it just doesn't look like it is going to happen."

Pageant officials said Prejean would be replaced by the Miss California pageant's first runner-up, Tami Farrell, 24.

During the Miss USA competition, Prejean was first runner-up after answering a judge's question about gay marriage by saying wedding vows should be reserved for men and women.

"No offense to anybody out there, but that's how I was raised," she said.

So long Costa Rica. Hello Heidi-wood!

speidi_0424.jpg
And we all thought rehab was for quitters! Who knew the force that we call Speidi couldn't hack it more than two nights in the jungle of Costa Rica. No never, I thought the overly processed blondes could make it without iPhones and the paparazzi stalking their every move. I knew it would be hard to forgo Starbucks but two days!!!

Heidi and Spencer Pratt said they're bailing, and they like really, really mean it this time.
At least twice already, they had quit and un-quit I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here! But the bratty newlyweds, who star on MTV's The Hills, were seen taking what's presumably their final leave on the Tuesday edition of the NBC competition series -- only its second night.

"We're gonna miss you guys," Heidi told the not-so-super-celebrities they were ditching. "But call us when you get back to LA."

"Let them go off to Heidi-wood along the Yellow Brick Road," muttered Janice Dickinson.

Gotta love her and her Steven Tyler mouth.

But, I'm on Speidi's side. I wouldn't be able to stand looking at Sanjaya for more than 10 minutes either.

The Brady-Bundch isn't growing

Tom-Brady-Gisele-Bundchen.jpgOne is not the loneliest number for number 12. New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady says there's no baby on the way for him and his wife, supermodel wife Gisele Bundchen.

Brady married the Brazilian glamazon this winter in a pair of ceremonies in Costa Rica and California. RadarOnline.com reported last week that Bundchen is pregnant.

After practice on Thursday, the cutie QB talked about the importance of a wife and "children." But when reporters asked Brady, who has a son with actress Bridget Moynahan, whether another child was on the way, Brady shook his head and said, "No."
"One is enough," Brady said.

Dodging the punches

Melissa-Leo-Lunch-Oscar.jpg

The fight will continue, but for a short time it's between rounds.

Actors Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale were spotted at numerous locations around Lowell earlier this week and will return in July to begin filming The Fighter. The duo will portray brothers Micky Ward and Dicky Eklund, respectively, in the boxing epic.

"This story is about two brothers from Lowell who overcome great struggles, coming together for one moment in time that will last forever. Dicky helped his brother become a champion. It makes it a wonderful movie. There wouldn't be a movie without Dicky Eklund," says Lowell native Rich Farrell, who is part of the local creative team helping with the production of the film.

In a past life, Farrell was the producer of the HBO documentary High on Crack Street: Lost Lives in Lowell, which received the duPont Columbia Award and was nominated for two Cable Ace Awards. Eklund was one of the subjects of the project, which followed three people in their pursuit to get high.

Farrell will be very busy the next couple months. Besides lending his hand and knowledge of Lowell to the Fighter crew, his memoir, What's Left of Us, hits the shelves June 30.

Also, actress Melissa Leo, whose resume includes 21 Grams, Frozen River, Righteous Kill and a regular role in the late NBC series Homicide, will play Dicky and Micky's mom, Alice Eklund in the Fighter.

Farrell added, "This is a great story for Lowell. We've been working on it for a long time and we're going take it to the finish line."

LC says so-long to 'The Hills'

lauren_conrad-1.jpg
“The Hills” will no longer be alive with the drama of Lauren Conrad — at least, after the fifth season.

The producer of the MTV reality series confirms Conrad is leaving “The Hills,” and that season five, premiering March 30, will be Conrad’s final appearance.

Liz Gately says Conrad wants to move forward and lead a more private life. Gately plans to give the 23-year-old fashion designer a big send-off, and is evaluating how to continue with the show following Conrad’s departure.

“The Hills,” which debuted in 2006, has followed Conrad as she struggles with man problems, career drama and friendship fall outs.

MTV’s cameras began rolling on Conrad when she was a high school student on “Laguna Beach” before graduating to “The Hills.”

What is your favorite "Hills" moment?

Leo's gal pal nudges her way to the front

bar-refaeli-sports-illustra.jpg

The world knows a lot more about Bar Refaeli today than it did yesterday, including where her tiny tan line falls.

Sports Illustrated Swimsuit unveiled the 23-year-old Israeli, who has been romantically linked to Leonardo DiCaprio, as a first-time cover girl on Tuesday.

This gig, more than top fashion or entertainment magazines, can be career-altering as it puts a model’s face in front of millions of eyeballs, appealing to both men and women, sports fans and fashionistas.

It’s the cover that matters most, says SI group editor Terry McDonell, but each model — 19 for this issue — gets an equal shot at the cover. Refaeli wears a string bikini by Missoni — and the strings on the bikini bottom are being tugged south.

Refaeli said that she had the feeling that this particular shot of her in the water on Canouan Island in the Grenadines was her chance to be on the front.

“This is the one I felt the most comfortable with,” said Refaeli, who twice before was featured on the inside pages of the magazine. “You have the beach, blue water and a body. That’s it. I liked that the top of the suit was on.”

You too can read his mind

bono02.jpg

Can he type with those shades on?

U2 frontman and humanitarian, Bono, will write an Op-Ed column for "The New York Times"

The paper announced that his first column will appear Sunday, for which he will also do a podcast. The column will appear occasionally and will cover a wide range of topics that is sure to include Africa.

Bono called the gig “an honor,” and joked that he’s “never been great with the full stops or commas.”

If he can write the way he sings, he might just be the next Mark Twain.
