Tom Brady off the free market

tom_giselle.jpg
Supermodel Gisele got what a lot of women wanted for Christmas this year — Tom Brady. The all-American boy and quarter back of the New England Patriots proposed to the leggy Brazilian on Christmas Eve.

Sources told celebrity we site, TMZ, that Brady popped the question on a private jet that took off from Teterboro Airport in New Jersey and landed in Boston.

On board were four dozen white roses, champagne and Gisele’s parents.

How lovely. (Gag!)

Star magazine is reporting the pair will wed on the island of Costa Rica in March.

Lowell actor coming back

Have no fear! You will still get your fix of local homeboy Michael Chiklis.

The actor, who was born in Lowell and raised in Andover, just wrapped FX cop drama "The Sheild." He is now working on a new drama about schemes and dreams.

No Chiklis didn’t lose any money in the escalating Bernard Madoff scandal. But he did fall victim to another Ponzi scheme early this year. And now, sadder but wiser, he’s developing a TV series fueled by his experience.

Chiklis has been gathering material from others also hurt by investor scams, “and if I had hair, it’d curl,” says the actor.

Your hot and she's cold

katy_perry.jpg
Primiscuous pop princess, Katy Perry, may be letting the fame get to her head. Perry might have kissed a girl, and liked it, but she was not into her fans Thursday night.

Pop’s pinup girl performed at the Tsongas Arena in Lowell for the Kiss 108’s Jingle Ball. Perry was joined by American Idol cutie David Archuleta, Ne-Yo, Natasha Bedingfield, Hinder, Lady GaGa, Kevin Rudolf, Jesse McCartney and Secondhand Serenade. Each act had about 15 minutes to wow the crowd of mostly tween and teen girls, except Ne-Yo who closed the show with a live band and flashy dance moves.

Clad in a burlesque Santa Claus outfit, Perry was the only artist who did not sign autographs for the sold out crowd. Fans who bought a CD at the show were given a wrist band for back stage access. After each performance the artists would meet and greet those who purchased an album signing the copies. Seems Perry opted to not participate.

File under: the b@$%! that stole Christmas.

Scott Ruffalo, 39, died late Monday night at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. The hairstylist, was found with a gunshot wound to the head in Beverly Hills on Dec. 1. Police haven’t discussed a motive.

Two people wanted for questioning about the shooting had surrendered themselves to police earlier Monday. Shaha Mishaal Adham was suspected of shooting Scott Ruffalo, and authorities had issued an attempted murder arrest warrant for the 26-year-old. Brian Scofield was being held on a misdemeanor traffic warrant.

Jail records didn’t indicate whether the pair have hired attorneys, but showed that a court date for Adham had been tentatively scheduled for Wednesday.

Jon Stewart to spring a show on Lowell?

Jon_Stewart_Academy_Awards.jpg

Everyone needs a good laugh. And this spring it’s likely that Jon Stewart, the multitalented, Emmy Award-winning host of popular "The Daily Show" on Comedy Central, will bring big yucks to Lowell.

Although a date hasn’t been finalized, Tom McKay, executive director of Lowell Memorial Auditorium and a partner in Mill City Management, confirmed the rumors yesterday.
“We’ve been talking with his people in New York and want to bring him here. We tried to get Stewart here a year ago, and that didn’t work out. We think this will. He’s so big; we think it will be a huge success,” said McKay.

Stay tuned.

Spears vs. Federline: Round 1

124518__britney_l.jpg

We all knew this was coming. On the heels of the premiere of Britney Spears' MTV documentary, the release of her album "Circus" and the announcement that she is going on a North American tour this winter, her ex hubby had to get his two cents in.

Kevin Federline is telling all to "People" magazine this week. K-Fed says money was no object in his custody battle with Brit. Hmmm...we're not quite sure we believe that.

The Fed-Ex also vowed to “spend every last dime” (of Brit's money) to make sure that sons Sean Preston and Jayden James were OK.

“That’s all that mattered. I didn’t know how much power Britney had. That really scared me,” he says.

Spears told MTV that things fell apart when K-Fed began focusing on his rap career. But he told the magazine he was more concerned with the children.

“Not that I ignored Britney, but my kids are always most important,” he says.

I have a feeling the mud slinging has just begun.
