If you didn't know who Russell Brand was before today, you will by tomorrow.

The wild-haired, motor-mouthed British comedian is renowned for risque routines, wrote a memoir recounting his drug and sex addiction and called President Bush “that retarded cowboy fellow” while hosting MTV’s Video Music Awards.

On Wednesday, Brand quit his BBC radio show after he and fellow performer Jonathan Ross were suspended indefinitely for leaving lewd messages on the voicemail of a 78-year-old actor.

The calls by Brand and Ross to actor Andrew Sachs — best known for playing Spanish waiter Manuel in the 1970s Britcom “Fawlty Towers” — have drawn more than 18,000 complaints. Who knew that many people even listen to the BBC?!?!

In the ad-libbed messages, the pair claimed Brand had slept with Sachs’ granddaughter Georgina Baillie, and joked that Sachs might hang himself as a result of the news. Baillie, a 23-year-old burlesque performer, acknowledged she had a sexual relationship with Brand but said the calls to her grandfather were “cruel.”

Both Brand and Ross apologized, but should they?

Tomorrow night the Rockband Live Tour rolls into the Tsongas Arena. Panic at the Disco, Plain White T’s, Dashboard Confessional and The Cab are headlining the show. General admission tickets are still available for $36.50 at all Ticketmaster locations or at the arena box office.

The show starts at 7 p.m.

MTV "The Hills" resident player, Doug Reinhardt, will be in Boston Saturday night. The playboy is leaving the left coast to make an appearance at The Estate.

Will he have Brody Jenner, Lauren Conrad or maybe even Stephanie Pratt in tow? Who knows?

Nevermind planning what your Halloween costume is going to be this weekend, score yourself a pair of tickets to Lowell's premiere event. The Kiss 108 Jingle Ball is coming back to the Tsongas Arena in Lowell on Thursday, Dec. 11.

The Top 40 Boston station celebrates the year in music with its fans every December at the Mill City venue. Set to take the stage are "American Idol" cutie David Archuleta, bad girl Katy Perry, dance queen Natasha Bedingfield, R&B crooner Ne-Yo and teen dream Jesse McCartney. The station will release more names as the day approaches.

Tickets go on sale Friday morning at 10 a.m. at any Ticketmaster location or through the Tsongas Arena box office. Ticket prices are $126.50, $86.50 and $41.50.

...in band camp I got pregnant!

American Pie band geek and most recently How I Met Your Mother's Alyson Hannigan has just announced that she is expecting her first child with husband and fellow actor Alexis Denisof.

The couple met didn't meet in band camp, but on the set of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and have been married since 2003.

Congratulations!

It may be sticky, but it certainly isn’t a sweet ending for the Madge.

Madonna’s spokeswoman says the singer and her husband, filmmaker Guy Ritchie, will divorce after 7 1/2 years together.A statement e-mailed to The Associated Press from spokeswoman Liz Rosenberg says the couple has agreed to divorce, and asks the media to respect their privacy.

The Material Mom is performing tonight and tomorrow night in Boston as her “Sticky and Sweet” tour continues. Ritchie’s latest movie, RocknRolla, recently opened to mixed reviews.

This is the second time this year that the superstar couple’s marriage has come under the media microscope. Over the summer, Madonna was linked — unfairly, she said — to the breakup of New York Yankee Alex Rodriguez and his ex-wife Cynthia.

In July, Madonna’s U.S. publicist released a statement that said the singer and Ritchie had “no plans to divorce.”

Madonna and Ritchie married in December 2000 at a Scottish castle. The couple have two children: Rocco, 8, and David Banda, 3, who was adopted from Malawi in 2006. Madonna also has a 12-year-old daughter, Lourdes, from her relationship with personal trainer Carlos Leon.
The couple are reportedly worth some $525 million, the bulk of that belonging to Madonna. Ritchie has an estimated $35 million fortune. They own homes in London, Los Angeles and New York, and a 1,200-acre retreat in Wiltshire, England.

Movie web site www.FirstShowing.net says that Mark Wahlberg is worried that his passion project, "The Fighter," will never get up from the mat. The actor, who has been training to portray Lowell boxer, Micky Ward, was out promoting his new film "Max Payne" when he made some comments about trouble with the biopic.

Wahlberg told the web site “I get up everyday at 5 a.m. to train for a movie that might not even happening. It’s depressing.”

Darren Aronofsky, who is set to direct the film made a couple remarks about trouble casting the film. Brad Pitt was rumored to play Ward’s half brother, Dicky Eklund, as was Matt Damon. Neither have been confirmed.

“We have a great script, we’re just trying to cast it and try and figure out how it’s going to get made,” Aronofsky said.

Location scouts from Paramount were in Cupples Square in the Highlands a few weeks ago scouting locations for the film. They reportedly also stopped into Arthur Ramalho’s West End Gym.

Actor Nick Nolte jumped out a window and used a hose to fight a fire that broke out in his Malibu home Tuesday, authorities said.

Who knew he could move so fast! By the looks of his mug shot from a few years ago, the fire might be good in taming that hair!

The 67-year-old actor scraped his arm and inhaled some smoke (no word, what kind of smoke he inhaled) but was not hospitalized.

The fire was reported at 11:34 a.m. at Nolte’s secluded Bonsall Drive home. The electrical fire started in the living room, and Nolte smelled the smoke from an upstairs bedroom.

It took firefighters about 26 minutes to douse the blaze, which damaged a portion of the home.
The fire caused about $3 million in total damage, half of it structural damage and half damage to the contents of the home, including “collectibles, artwork, the furniture. .

After being rushed to the hospital earlier this week, Janet Jackson is now canceling shows on her Rock Witchu Tour.

People.com is reporting that she has postponed her show here in Boston tonight and tomorrow's appearence in Philly.

The singer fell ill during sound check in Montreal and was brought to the hospital. She was discharged on Tuesday. Jackson will resume her tour Saturday.
