Weezer will launch their first major U.S. tour in more than three years at the Tsongas Arena in Lowell. The alternative rockers known for their sarcastic sound and quirky personalities will kick things off on Tuesday, Sept. 23. The tour is to support their latest self-titled album, known as the “Red Album.”
The show is slated to start at 7 p.m. All tickets are $50 and go on sale Saturday, Aug. 16 at 10 a.m.
The opening act, Angels & Airwaves, is a mish-mash of musicians from other notable bands. It is fronted by Tom DeLonge of Blink-182, guitarist David Kennedy of Over My Dead Body, Offspring drummer Atom Willard and 30 Seconds to Mars bassist Matt Wachter.
Also, the Boys Like Girls, Good Charlotte and Metro Station concert at the Arena next Saturday has sold out. Who would of thought all those Emo kids got the hair out of their eyes long enough to get out and buy tickets early?
