I'm Ready For Some Football

Monday Night Football: Back on ABC. Well, locally at least.
If you don’t have cable or access to ESPN, you can still watch tonight’s Patriots-Vikings game on WCVB-TV Channel 5. Kickoff is 8:30 p.m. and Mike Lynch will anchor a pre-game show live from Minnesota at 8 p.m.
In the past, Channel 5 would air all Sunday night Patriots games that appeared on ESPN. Channel 5 is an ABC affiliate and ESPN is part of ABC, hence the relationship. Got it?
Sunday night NFL games now air on NBC, but ESPN still gets the Monday night match-up, which is dominating the cable TV ratings.
The Pats game replaces “Wife Swap, “The Bachelor, and “What About Brian. Ho-hum. Wouldn’t you rather watch Tom Brady zinging it to Troy Brown, who needs a handful of catches to break the team’s all-time receptions record?
Thankfully there aren’t any plans for Wednesday night football on ESPN. “Lost addicts would be flipping over television sets and jumping out windows!
That humming you hear or that smoke you see tonight is coming from my DVR, which will work overtime to record everything I’ve missed.
Here’s my taping schedule suggestion:
8 p.m. “Prison Break, Fox
9 p.m. “Heroes, NBC
10 p.m. “Friday Night Lights, NBC (A new day and time=better ratings?)
Later dudes,
Andy

Broseph, you're talking about a lot of new dramas...but have you seen '30 Rock'? Funny stuff with Alec Baldwin and Tracy Morgan. Starting November 20, NBC is resurrecting 'must see tv' by putting 30 Rock and Scrubs on with My Name is Earl, and The Office. More interesting than Studio 60, Prison Break, and Friday Night Lights combined, I think, home slice.

Hey DV,
I agree "The Office" and other comedies haven't gotten much love here. Not a big fan of "30 Rock." I actually think "SNL" has gotten funnier now that head writer Tina Fey has left.
"Friday Night Lights," though, check it out, still the best new show on TV, "Heroes" is a close second.
Love "Scrubs," and I hate that NBC holds it. "My Name is Earl" is OK, but as far as "must see TV," these shows have a tall task.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not a comedy hater. I like "How I met Your Mother," "Family Guy" and "American Dad." And, of course, anything with Borat in it.
Let's Go Pats tonight.
