    Almost out of the woods

Most of the rain had stopped across Greater Lowell as of 6:45 p.m., but don't be fooled, the National Weather Service's winter storm warning remains in effect until Thursday at 6 a.m.
Forecasters say "one more pulse of freezing rain" is likely this evening, so roads should stay slick.
Things didn't seem too bad during a drive around Lowell tonight about 6 p.m., but state police in Andover were still reporting plenty of spinouts on the highways. No major accidents were reported though.

At 6:30 p.m., National Grid was reporting just one customer without power in all of Middlesex County. Utility crews were still standing by, though, and Unitil said its crews would stay at the ready until tomorrow.
